Mentoring

A great mentor will help illuminate the path while alerting you to unforeseen danger.

The Role of Mentor

A mentor is someone with extensive business experience and knowledge who can advise and guide you on a range of business matters. Mentoring can be delivered one-on-one or in a group environment.
A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within and helps develop potential. Richard Branson believes “If you ask any successful business person, they will always have had a great mentor at some point along the road. If you want success then it takes hard work, hard work and more hard work. But it also takes a little help along the way; if you are determined and enthusiastic then people will support you.”
Whether you are just starting out or want to expand your business, it’s always a good idea to extend your business support network and a mentor can help you do this.
In order to maximise the effectiveness of mentoring relationships, specific goals and action plans are needed. Such relationships are built on trust, honesty and confidentiality throughout the process and for the relationship to be productive, good and frank communication is essential.
It’s important to remember that mentors will not solve problems for you. A true mentor will cause you to ask the right questions that help you get to where you want to be, and they’ll call you out when they know you’re accepting less of yourself, your vision or your team. They’ll help you frame your problem and they’ll help you check the assumptions and belief systems that are holding you back, so you spend less time spinning your wheels and wasting precious capital.

“There is nothing more satisfying than working with clients to achieve their potential!”
